Tiger Offshore Rentals Port Fourchon, Louisiana hit by Hurricane Ida

2021 – Hurricane Ida Packed a Punch to Port Fourchon

The Tiger Offshore Rentals’ Port Fourchon, Louisiana facility was severely impacted with flooding, roof damages, destroyed housing and offices, as well as equipment turned over and scattered across the yards. The affected areas suffered loss of electricity, plumbing, water, fuel and the basic essentials needed to run a business for several weeks.

Despite these challenges, our teams were able to mobilize quickly and get operations up and running within days. Tiger Industrial provided generators, light towers and a 12’ x 40’ blast resistant building used for a temporary office. Fuel was brought in to help our Tiger family/team with transportation requirements. Tiger Offshore brought in temporary buildings with plumbing and air conditioning for housing team members and third-party contractors.

Our employees’ homes and families were harshly impacted by the storm as well, but despite their own personal trials, they showed up to make it happen. In less than a week, the Port opened for business, and we were one of the first service companies up and running with PMI cleaning vessels and Tiger Offshore delivering equipment to customers.

We still have a lot of work to do, but the team is working hard to come back better and stronger than before Hurricane Ida moved inland.
